“Jelilat worked as a writing consultant for Carleton College’s writing center during the height of the pandemic. In this role, she supported students writing for college classes in a variety of genres. She also assisted students applying to graduate school, internships, and jobs. As a writing consultant, Jelilat received training on writer-reader dynamics, writer autonomy, and academic writing expectations. She works equally well with students in-person and virtually and highly values the relational aspects of working with people on projects they care about.”
